Frequently Asked Questions
-
No, you don’t need a doctor’s referral to see me! You can book an appointment directly through my website or by contacting me. If after your assessment, I think it’s necessary to get additional medical input, I’ll let you know, but for most cases, I can help you right away.
In some cases, insurance companies require a doctor's referral in order to cover your appointments- always best to check with your insurance provider to see if they require a referral.
-
I don't offer direct billing, but it's super easy to pay at your appointment and submit the receipt to your insurance provider. Typically, once you submit the receipt, the money is directly deposited back into your account within just a few days. If you have any questions about the process, I’m happy to help!

Prior to your first appointment, it can be helpful to consider some of the following:
Fill out my online intake form- this will really help me prepare for our time together and will come to you through my online system Jane App.
Know your medical history- including past injuries, surgeries, chronic conditions, medications or treatments
Identify and write down your symptoms- specific symptoms/issues, when they started, what triggers them, what helps relieve them
Know your Goals- thinking about what specifically a good outcome would look like or feel like for you! This will help us tailor your treatments specifically for your needs and desired outcome
Prepare your specific questions- we want to make sure you feel informed and empowered in your body and plan. Write down any questions or concerns you have so that we can address them at your appointment.
Consider your lifestyle- It’s important and helpful for us to get a sense of your daily habits, including work routines, exercise, diet, and sleep patterns. There’s no judgment here but this information is critical as we create a plan for you.
On the day of your appointment I recommend that you support yourself by wearing comfortable clothing you can move in, staying hydrated and leaving lots of time to arrive to your appointment early and on time.

Life happens! If you need to cancel, just let me know at least 24 hours in advance so I can make the space available for someone else. If it’s a last-minute cancellation (less than 24-hours notice) or no-show, you will be charged the full fee of your appointment.
-
Sessions are 60 to 90 minutes, depending on what we’re working on. I want to make sure you have the time you need to feel heard, assessed, and get everything you need out of our time together. I’ll discuss what appointment length will best suit you after your initial assessment.
-
Great question! The timeline for seeing changes depends on several factors, including the nature of your condition, how long you've been dealing with it, your overall health, and how your body responds to treatment. Some patients experience relief after just a few sessions, while others might take longer, especially if the issue is chronic or complex.

I work with people with a wide range of injuries and conditions, including, but not limited to:
Musculoskeletal Pain and Injuries: Back pain, neck pain, shoulder injuries, hip pain, and knee or ankle issues.
Sports-Related Injuries: Strains, sprains, overuse injuries, and rehabilitation to help athletes return to peak performance.
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation: Recovery after procedures such as ACL reconstructions, meniscus repairs, joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs, achilles repairs, or abdominal surgeries.
Prenatal Care: Using a combination of manual therapy and movement therapies (mat pilates, reformer pilates, strength training) to target any strength or postural imbalances to keep you feeling good and moving well throughout pregnancy. We will also support you by creating modifications to your programming as your body changes throughout your pregnancy.
Postpartum Recovery: Restoring your core and pelvic floor by helping you reconnect with your body, then progressively loading the tissues to maximize their strength, and lastly safely guiding you through activity or sport specific movement patterns and drills to get you back to doing what you love.
Chronic Pain Conditions: Helping clients manage ongoing pain and injury with tailored care plans and movement-based strategies.
Performance Optimization: For athletes of all levels and ages looking to enhance strength, mobility, and resilience to prevent future injuries.
At SSW, our care is always tailored to your unique needs and goals. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing a chronic condition, or looking to move and feel better, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. If you’re unsure whether I can help with your specific issue, feel free to reach out—I’d love to discuss how I can support you!
-
Absolutely! Whether you’re an athlete, a weekend warrior, or someone just looking to move better, I can help you improve your strength, flexibility, and performance. My goal is to empower you to feel confident and strong in your body, no matter where you're starting from.
-
It really depends on your individual needs. Some people may benefit from weekly visits in the beginning, while others might space them out as they make progress. Frequency of sessions is something that we will discuss directly with you at your first appointment so that you feel clear and aligned on your plan moving forward.
-
I believe that no two bodies are the same, which is why I don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment. When we create your care plan, I take into account several key factors that are specific to you, like your medical history, current condition, symptoms, lifestyle, and personal goals.
Pilates exercises are incredibly modifiable, which means I can adapt them to meet your body where it’s at—whether you’re recovering from an injury or looking to improve your performance. I’ll also regularly check in with you to see how you're feeling and progressing, adjusting your plan as needed. This way, your treatment remains personalized, evolving with you as you heal, get stronger, and improve.
-
Yes, in most cases, you can continue with your regular workouts, but we’ll discuss adjustments if needed to ensure you're not aggravating your injury or condition. My focus is on modifying activities to support healing while keeping you active.
